Hi Phyllis,
When I signed up for your First Degree Reiki class, I didn't realize I was going to put Reiki to such a test. I had a kidney stone, which was too big to pass, and several small stones.
The surgery went great and yes the Reiki really helped. I am feeling much better. The day of surgery, I came off all pain medications. The smaller kidney stones had vanished, and there was only the one and it was not as big as it was on the C.T. scan. I think the Reiki helped get rid of them and shrink the large one.
Thank you for all you have done for me and also for the class. I cannot express how much I enjoyed learning Reiki, and meeting everyone in the class has meant to me. Finding you when I did was a great blessing.
P.S. My cat just loves Reiki. He will come in and jump up on me, and when I lay my hand down, palm up, he puts his paw, head, or stomach on it to receive the energy.

Dear Phyllis, Don and all you wonderful people who sent Reiki healing energy to me during my recent back surgery.
Just before surgery, I had a profound surge of energy and newly found confidence in the procedure. This replaced the fear and anxiety I'd had for days. After regaining my senses after the anesthesia wore off, I reached out in a loving way to those who tended me. I had an intense knowing that the surgery was a success. I found my voice to express my needs and to exercise my patient rights - something that had been difficult in recent years.
Thank you all for helping me through the surgery and for restoring my faith in Reiki energy. I can drive now and will start rehab this week.
Blessings to you all and Happy Holidays!

L. J. C.'s Story
I had breast cancer in 1993. Seven years later I learned that the cancer metastasized in my hip in March of 2000. I had a hip joint replacement and at that time I was told I had a lesion on my 11th vertebra, which could not be treated with radiation due to the proximity of the nerves that control my walking. I was told that I had a 50/50 chance of not walking. I chose not to take radiation and went on Tamoxifen. The doctor said I had 4 to 5 years to live.
At that time, a very good friend of mine, Phyllis, was studying Reiki. She offered to give me treatments. At first she brought her Reiki table to my home for treatments, but eventually we met at her friend's massage therapy office. It pretty much became my second home as I realized how much better I felt after a Reiki treatment. My friends at work noticed a difference in my demeanor. I calmed down a lot. If they ever noticed I was getting tense about stuff at work, they'd say, "Isn't it time for you to have another Reiki treatment?" It was and I did.
I was taught to set my intent, visualize, and cut cords. They loaned me books and tapes to help me understand how I had to take the responsibility for my body to heal. My husband was very supportive throughout this ordeal and even listened to the tapes with me.
I also received distance Reiki and hands-on Reiki from other members of the Traditional Reiki Institute. I'm now a Second Degree Reiki. I use Reiki almost every day. Not only has it helped in my battle against cancer, I know that it has also helped me spiritually as well.
I regularly attend the "Reiki Circle" sessions and have a chance to share Reiki with those who shared their Reiki with me.
I made progress and realized that not only was I getting encouraging reports from my doctor, I always had a sense of well being after a Reiki treatment - and my sinuses cleared up!
I did have a couple of setbacks. Twice during 2003, I suffered broken bones from falls. In both cases the breaks healed quicker than my doctor and physical therapist expected. My tumor remained dormant and I continued treatment with my oncologist, which included quarterly office visits and medications.
In April 2004, after 5 years, my doctor told me that I am cancer free. I have since had tests to verify that the cancer is gone. I no longer think about how long I have to live. I've pushed my life on Earth far into the future. I'm enjoying my retirement as I'm free to travel across the USA with my husband, and I've taken up quilting which I dearly love.
Thanks for your help.
